1D Barcode Symbologies - UPC-A

This is standard in the USA for items sold to the public. UPC-A contains numeric data only and encodes a 12 digit-number. The first one is the number system character, the next five represent the supplier ID, the following five digits the product number and the last one is the required checksum. (In Europe EAN-13 is used).
